UNDP works to enhance institutional and community abilities to recognize and manage potential disaster while supporting activities geared towards improved and long-lasting environmental management techniques in Sierra Leone. This entails supporting Government efforts to adopt environmental policies consistent with international environmental conventions, develop and implement a comprehensive disaster management strategy and improve national capabilities for sustainable waste management, deforestation, climate change, and natural resource management.
