UNDP Annual Report 2007

As we review the activities of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) over the last year, it’s clear we face a double challenge. First, there is the overall coherence and “delivering as one” agenda, which is critical for the entire UN development system. As chair of the UN Development Group, the UNDP Administrator has a special role, working together with UN colleagues, in moving forward with reform. Global Human Development Report 2007/2008

The Global Human Development Reports are a reliable source and alternative perspective on critical issues for human development worldwide. Featuring the Human Development Index, every report presents agenda-setting data and analysis and calls international attentions to issues and policy options that put people at the center of strategies to meet the challenges of development today - economic, social, political, and cultural. This year’s report discusses water; and how water influences human potential and progress towards the Millennium Development Goals. Click on the image above to view the HDR for 2007/2008. Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Report 2007

In 2000, world leaders agreed in a vision for the future – a world with less poverty, hunger and disease, greater survival prospects for mothers and their infants, better educated children, equal opportunities for women, and a healthier environment; a world in which developed and developing countries worked in partnership for the betterment of all. This vision took the shape of eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), which are providing countries around the world a framework for development and time-bound targets by which progress can be measured. To see where we stand in achieving these goals in 2007, click on the image above. For previous years’ reports, click here.
